When I saw this still, I thought for sure it was a photoshop. Nope. It’s from the Brisbane Riverfire celebration.
There were some other low-ass passes by an RAAF E/A-18 Growler.

Ahh, Brisbane’s most
infamous body of water, the Michael Bay.

I love these videos, because I can show them to the people whining about the local Red Bull Air Race. :-D

Are anti-hooning laws no longer enforced?

ahah! I have a brother and father who are both a residents of brisbane and a little bit anorak for planes
enjoy some vids and pics I thieved from their Facebooks
the vids are a little low res (because I stole them from their FB), but it gives a good idea of just how low that massive thing was. they got there several hours early, so this is taken from standing right on the river’s edge

I watched those and said, “Damn, I wish I had been there with my camera.”

I think it’s clear from the quality his real camera was busy taking stills, and the phone did all the videos. but the quantiy of cameras and phones pointed at planes that day HAS to be in the thousands

of course, part of the fun is the week leading up to riverfire, there’s plenty of announcement of the practice flybys so nobody assumes terror attacks or such, so folks working downtown get a few previews of the show

The more I watch that scene, the more I realize that it’s terrible acting.

My brother used to work in a skyscraper in downtown San Francisco. Every year, the Navy has their giant Fleet Week, which always includes a show by the Blue Angels. Since he’s quite the gearhead, my brother got to know the maintenance guys at the building, and he got to join them on the roof to watch the Blues practice. He said the Hornets were flying down between the buildings, and when they banked around his building you could see down into the cockpit. That would have been crazy awesome.

Just like most 80s movies
